In recent years, the PVC industry has joined forces to develop and promote PVC recycling solutions.

This push began in 2000 with the Vinyl 2010 voluntary commitment, signed by the various businesses in the market. The objective of this commitment is to recycle 200,000 more tonnes of PVC products at the end of their life in 2010 than in 1999.

ESWA, the European association of producers of synthetic waterproofing membrane for roofing, of which RENOLIT Belgium N.V. is a member, has also set up the RoofCollect® programme.

The aim of this programme is to organise the collection and recycling of synthetic waterproofing membranes at the end of their life. This programme resulted in the collection of more than 700 tonnes of materials in 2003, mainly in Germany and the Benelux countries. This programme has since been extended to France and Austria.
